Studio Slate Pro

Privacy Policy

Effective October 21, 2026

Studio Slate Pro ("we", "us") is film and TV production software at studioslatepro.com: script breakdown, budgeting, scheduling and call sheets. This policy explains what information we collect, why, who helps us handle it, and the choices you have. We keep it short and in plain language. If anything is unclear, write to us at support@studioslatepro.com.

The short version

  • We collect what we need to run your account and your productions, and nothing more.
  • We never sell your information, and we don't show ads or use advertising trackers.
  • Your scripts and production data are yours. We only use them to provide the service to you.
  • You can export everything in your account, and ask us to delete it, at any time.

What we collect

  • Account details: your name, email address and password (or your Google sign-in), and, if you add them, your phone number, address and company name.
  • Sign in with Google: if you choose it, Google shares your name, email address and profile picture with us. We use them only to create your account and sign you in.
  • Your production content: scripts you import, breakdowns, budgets, schedules, call sheets, and the cast, crew and contact details you enter. When you add information about other people (for example, a crew member's phone number), you're responsible for having the right to share it with us.
  • Billing: your plan, invoices and purchases. Payments are handled by Stripe; we never see or store your full card number.
  • Bank data, if you link a bank: when you link a production's bank or card account on Integrations, we receive the account names, the last digits of the account numbers, and their transactions, read-only, through Plaid. You sign in to your bank in Plaid's own window, so we never see your bank password, and we can't move money. We use this only to bring costs into your cost reports. Unlinking a bank stops it; costs you already added stay in your reports until you delete them.
  • Accounting data, if you connect it: when you connect QuickBooks or Odoo on Integrations, or import a file there, we receive the accounts, posted costs and purchase orders it holds for your productions. QuickBooks is linked in Intuit's own sign-in window, so we never see your QuickBooks password; an Odoo API key you paste is stored encrypted. We use this only to bring costs into your cost reports.
  • Security and usage: sign-in sessions, the devices signed in to your account, two-step sign-in settings, and basic logs (such as when something went wrong) that keep the service secure and working.
  • Your email account, if you connect it: when you connect Gmail, Outlook or another email account in My Account → Email, the documents you email from Studio Slate Pro (such as call sheets, sides, scripts and exports) are sent from that account. With Google or Microsoft you sign in in their own window and give us permission only to send email from your account, not to read your mail. With another provider (such as iCloud) you give us an app password, which we use only to send and to put a copy in your Sent folder. Your sign-in or app password is stored encrypted, and you can disconnect at any time. If you don't connect an account, emailing a document opens your own email app with the file ready, and we send nothing.
  • Messages: emails we send ourselves (such as invitations and account notices), a record of each email sent through Studio System Pro, including from your connected email account (who it went to, the message and its attachments), so you can see it in Sent emails, and feedback or support messages you send us.

How we use it

  • To provide the service: run your account, save your work, and send the emails you ask us to send.
  • For AI features you choose to use (such as AI script breakdown): the relevant script text is sent to our AI provider, Anthropic, to be processed and returned to you. Under Anthropic's commercial terms, it is not used to train their models.
  • For PreVis AI drawing, if you use it: your prompt and the reference images you add are sent to OpenAI or Google, depending on the model you pick, to make the picture and return it to you. If you use your own OpenAI or Google key, the request goes to your own account with that provider.
  • To bill you, keep your account secure, prevent abuse, and answer your questions.
  • To improve Studio Slate Pro, using feedback and overall usage patterns, not by reading your scripts.
  • To send important account notices. We don't send marketing email without your permission.

Google user data

If you sign in with Google, we receive only your basic profile (name, email address and profile picture), and we use it only to sign you in and identify your account. If you connect your Gmail account in My Account → Email, Google gives us permission only to send email from it, never to read your mail, and we use that permission only to send the documents you choose to email. We don't sell Google user data, use it for advertising, or share it except with the service providers below that help us run sign-in and email. Our use of information received from Google follows the Google API Services User Data Policy, including its Limited Use requirements.

Who helps us

We use a small number of trusted service providers, each only for its job:

  • Clerk: sign-in, passwords, two-step sign-in and Google sign-in.
  • Vercel: hosting the website and app.
  • Neon: our database, where your account and production data are stored.
  • Stripe: payments and subscriptions.
  • Resend: sending our own emails, such as invitations and account notices.
  • Google, Microsoft or your email provider: sending the documents you email from your own email account, only if you connect it.
  • Anthropic: AI features, only when you use them.
  • OpenAI and Google: PreVis AI drawing, only when you use it.
  • Intuit (QuickBooks) and Odoo: bringing in your accounting data, only if you connect them.
  • Plaid: linking your bank, only if you choose to. Plaid's handling of your data is described in the Plaid End User Privacy Policy.
  • Cloudflare: storing the files and images you upload (such as PreVis pictures) and encrypted backups.
  • GitHub: running our nightly backup and keeping the encrypted backup files.
  • OpenStreetMap and MET Norway: when you look up a shoot location, its address or coordinates are sent to find weather, sunrise and sunset, and the nearest hospital for your call sheet.

We may also share information if the law requires it, to protect people's safety, or as part of a business transfer (such as a merger), in which case this policy continues to apply.

Where it's stored and how it's protected

Your data is stored in the United States. It's encrypted in transit, backed up every night in encrypted form, and access is limited to the people who need it to run the service. You can add two-step sign-in (an authenticator app, Face ID or fingerprint) to protect your own account, and we recommend it.

How long we keep it

We keep your information while your account is open. If you close your account, we keep an archived copy so it can be restored if you change your mind; you can ask us to delete it permanently at any time. Backups are kept for a limited period and then replaced. We may keep billing records as long as tax and accounting law requires.

Your choices and rights

  • See and export your data: My Account → Your data downloads everything in your account.
  • Correct it: edit your details in My Account, or ask us.
  • Delete it: close your account in My Account, or ask us to delete your data permanently.
  • Depending on where you live (for example in the EU, UK or California), you may have further rights, such as to object to or restrict some uses. Write to support@studioslatepro.com and we'll help. We won't treat you differently for using these rights.

Cookies

We use only the cookies and browser storage needed to keep you signed in, keep your account secure and remember your preferences (such as language). No advertising or cross-site tracking cookies.

Children

Studio Slate Pro is for professionals and isn't meant for anyone under 16. We don't knowingly collect their information.

Changes

If we change this policy, we'll update the date at the top, and for important changes we'll let you know by email or in the app before they take effect.
